My personal growth as an blogger over the last two years

Hi everyone, hope you are keeping well, a bit of a different one from me today. I thought id share with you why and how I became a blogger. My success , my fails and my thought on building and maintaining growth in the parenting/family blogger niche.

How mummy and me started.

It all started as a hobby really and a bit of fun i needed a creative outlet to focus all my crazy . I was struggling with anxiety staying in a-lot on my own , I suppose in a way it was a way to connect with people. Share my experiences and document our journey as family. I’ve been able to record not only our personal growth but the litral growth of my children. Which I will be able to look back on in years to come, all the adventures we shared weather physically or in the many many story books we’ve reviewed along the way it’s wonderful. I think I’ve done alright this far tho it hasn’t always been plain sailing. I’m not the best blogger in the world but I’m defiantly very passionate.

I don’t think I do too bad. I do believe at the beggining I made one huge mistake I should of gone self hosted from the start. I think my blog would defiantly have grown and improved alot quicker. I don’t regret the mistake as such it’s all a learning curve. I did find before being self hosted there was less pressure. On the other hand I never knew you could potentially grow your blog into a job. I never knew I had such a love of writing and I’d love to become a freelance writer which I suppose is kind of what I do now. Upon reading my blog it become pretty clear what I’m passionate about and why i do what I do. My advice to anyone starting out is:

  • Go self hosted. ( very important if youd like to grpw your blog to its full potentail)
  • Find your niche or be like me and have many lifesyle/family/ money.
  • Post consistatantly and your readers will always come back.
  • Be you possibly the most important tip i could give you,
  • Last of all dont be embarressed to share your blog its yout very own work of art.

Im by means no expert but ive done alot of reasearch over the past almost two years it was only this pass week ive noticed more growth. I think due to the diffferent kind of posts ive been doing ive had more time on my hands. Ive also found over the past few months my intrests and priorties have changed quite alot which is most definatly going to change my blog a little but it will bring in new audience and with any luck some exciting oppertunties. I will however always maintain my niche as a parenting and lifestyle blogger because it what brings me the most joy. I know there are alot of parenting/family bloggers in the industy but in respects to my blogs personal growth. I dont feel its an issue every blogger or reader is looking for someone they personally resignate with theres room on the internet for all of us. we all have a unique story , different challanges we face and most importantly we all have differnt skills and intrest. I think the number one thing i can do right now is work hard and find oppertunties that will continue to help mummy and me grow and set myself a better routine with my writting. The more time and effort you can put in the morw you will achive but i feel thats the same with anything in life.

If you liked reading blog post like this one that are probably better written and more to the point. Please have a read of some of the other blogger stories (Here) and (Here)

In the next two years i hope to still be blogging hopefully in a more professional manner but if that doesnt work out ill still have fun with it. Thanks for reading my waffles.

Anxiety and me

I think trying to pinpoint where it began would be pretty easy but to admit to myself what it is and what has caused me to be this way is the hardest part. Even knowing what my triggers are doesn’t stop the anxiety chipping away at who I am. I want nothing more than to be happy with my one of a kind husband to be and our wonderful children there so perfect but I often feel like I’m ruining everything and they would be better off without me. The chaos in my brain not only stops me from being what I would deem normal if there is such a thing but it stops us from going out. Thanks to the anxiety related tummy problems and anxiety attacks I dread having to leave even the trip to the shop about 5 mins from my front door is a struggle. You feel the anxiety building up at the mere thought of leaving almost like a volcano waiting to erupt. Staying in just becomes the best option before you no if you haven’t been out for a week, a month, 6 months maybe longer. On a good day you can walk it off on the worst days you sit and cry because u feel like a complete and utter waste of space the negative thought grind you don’t until your a blubbering mess. We are a very happy family but I know that I let them down hubby doesn’t let on and says the kids are fine but when you see your children desperate to go out and have fun you know otherwise. We do a lot of indoor play baking making crafting reading and we love building Lego’s so I might start to wonder how bad I really am. Other humans probably see it as I’m lazy and can’t be bothered but what they don’t understand is I have an illness yes it might not be visible but illness all the same who in their right mind wants to stay in 24/7. I’d love nothing more than to travel all over the place exploring and showing the children the world and all the amazing adventures they could dream of but for now a trip to the park and the local farm is the best I can do and if I can do that I know that one day I’ll be able to do more as long as we don’t give up and keep trying the anxiety can’t win. Don’t give up on being your best you x

Easy bakes with the kid

Morning all hope your all well as some of you will be and the kids love cooking together sometime on the anxiety days we don’t get out as much as we could. So I like to find ways of having fun at home. Baking some yummy treats is a fun way to get messy and have fun. This morning we’ve been on a baking adventure on the menu is homemade fairy cakes and dinosaur scones that turned into crackers biscuits think we’ve created hybrid or forgot the baking powder, either way, they were very yummy and went well with cheese. Both Harrison and Emily had lots of fun not only making but eating I like to let them add the ingredients and join in when they want to and both love it even if we did spend most of the day in PJ we were still productive and I had less washing WINNING hehe. Below are our photos and recipes that are not mine but I can’t remember where I found them been using them for years.

  3. add the eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth then put into cake cases
  4.  pop in the oven on gas mark 4 for 20 mins
  5. wait till cool the ice and add sprinkle (to make the icing I do 2 spoons of icing to 1 of water so it’s not too runny).

  • 1 tsp of baking powder optional but our bakes need it Ahah
  1. Heat oven to gas mark 7.
  2. Mix the flour-butter and salt
  3. Stir in sugar and slowly add milk to make a soft dough
  4.  Flour the side and knead then roll out the dough using a round or whatever shape cookie cutter you have to make your scones, about 2cm in thickness keep going till all the dough is used.
  5.  Place on lined baking tray and brush with egg
  6. bake on gas mark 7 for 12-15mins

Halloween fun with #MAOAMmicschief

Hi all , how are you? My kids finally break up for half term today and I’ve decided to trick them in the name of Halloween. It was really funny I made a trick or treat box using items I had around the house.

Odds and ends from around the house.

I then decorated the box and placed some cardboard inside the box to create two separate sections.Daddy put in the trick whilst I was picking up the kids from school which was some fun squirty play foam and I’m pretty sure there were some fake spiders involved . In the treat side we added maoam strips perfect portion and wrapped which I feel is more hygienic. And for the sake of my mischief stopped the foam contaminating the sweets.

The set up!

When the children arrived home they were so excited and probably thought what the heck is going on.

Emily waiting time dig in 🤣

Emily of course picked treat but all fool her I got the trick or treat mixed up so she got the trick anyway I’d like to say was ment to be that way but was complete accident haha.

Foamy goodness

Harrison had a little go too but his face wasn’t to pleased 😂. I can confirm no children were hurt and both got some yummy maoam after our #maoammischeif I’m thinking up of some more in time for Christmas. Been a testing few months defiantly need some more fun. Back to school hacks with ace for whites #ACEIT challenge #AD

Hi all hope you are well , With half term looming i thought id share with you one of my favoutite washing products and some perparing for back to school tips . My children break up on friday for halloween , however thing will look this year we will make it fun. I like to get a head start ready for when half terms over , i usually have a list of thing i like to on the last day of term before we start to enjoy the holiday fun.

My pre-half term list

  • Empty out the school bag’s and lunch box. Any rubbish in the bin/ recycling and any old food emptied out and lunchbox cleaned ready for day one too.
  • I like to get the children to do any homework and spellings , then all can be returned there backpack ready as well. No last minute spuddling for lost homework.
  • Wash and iron the uniforms and hang them ready to go ,day one back no rushing around well…unless the alarm forgets to go off because you haven’t set it not that I’ve ever done that .
  • The dreaded pe bag everything gets washed , dried and put back in.

Some people have called me over organised but I’d rather give myself a head start after half term and enjoy the time with the children. Just spending half an hour or what ever it takes really does take the stress away. The back to school transtiton is almost stress less depending on toddler tantrums haha.

keeping your whites bright with ACE!

  • Seperate your washing properly. For me that means 3 seprate loads 1 x whites 1 x darks 1 x red and that’s just the school clothes. I never mix because i hate when the white school tops are go grey.
  • Use Ace for whites. Simply add the instructed amount to the draw along with your other washing products. Not only does it leave the school tops looking new everytime (see below for comparisson old top washed with ace and a brand new one ). It also removed odours and germs from clothing so not only do they smell cleaner , they are cleaner.
  • Ace for whites also contains bleach so its reccommened its only used on plain white items.
  • Ace is also very concentrated so helps stretch the pennies and still removes stains like the lovely pens the school allow the kids to use that don’t wash off.
