Wisconsin is more than just “America’s Dairyland.” While there’s nothing wrong with cheese and milk—in fact, they’re both delicious—the city of Mikwaukee is actually known for its robust brewery scene, perfect for beer lovers and foodies alike. There are more than 30 breweries that call Milwaukee home, including some of the oldest in the country. And, as craft brewing is becoming more popular, Milwaukee is leading the country, earning its title of “Brew City.”

If you’re looking to travel to Milwaukee or might be looking at Milwaukee apartments for rent, here are a few breweries you NEED to check out on your next night out whether you’re a long-time beer lover or just getting into the art of beer.

Miller Brewing Company

Founded in 1855, Miller is the most iconic and well-known brewery in Milwaukee, as well as Wisconsin as a whole. Everyone across the country is familiar with the brand, and Miller Lite is actually one of top ten best selling beers in the country. It’s no wonder the Miller Brewing Company is one of the best destinations in Milwaukee for beer lovers and non-drinkers alike.

As with all the breweries on this list, Miller offers a tour of its brewery that draws many to the area. With over 155 years of  history, there’s so much to learn during this guided tour. While the Miller tour has been closed due to COVID-19, they are currently hiring tour staff to bring back this awesome activity in the near future. Do you have what it takes to be the next tour guide of one of the oldest brewing companies in the country?

Lakefront Brewery

While Lakefront Brewery is much newer than Miller—opening its doors in the 1980’s—it considers itself “America’s Favorite Brewery Tour,” and there’s no wonder why. The tour itself is fun, educational, and includes many delicious beers to taste along the way. The beer hall also offers delicious eats to accompany your favorite IPA or lager, as well as some of the best entertainment in the area.

Looking for a fun night out on the town with your partner? Check out their Friday night fish fry, complete with polka music! Grab a delicious pitcher, the iconic fish fry dinner, and check out one of the most enjoyable brewery experiences in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Brewing Co.

Milwaukee Brewing Company offers two unique locations in the area—the MKE Ale House in the Historic Third Ward, and the new MKE 9th St, now Open in the Arena District. According to their website, Milwaukee Brewing Co. (also known as MKE) was voted as Milwaukee’s Best Craft Brewery of 2019, a huge accomplishment for anyone, but especially a brewery that opened their doors in just 1997.

Not only can you book a public brewery tour, but Milwaukee Brewing Co. is also the perfect location to host your next event. Rent out the space for your next networking, team building, or family event and ensure your guests have the time of their lives in one of the city’s best establishments.
