10 lockdown activities to inspire creativity

Watch a feel-good movie. Sometimes with the stress of daily life, i like to step back and sit back and watch my favourite movies and forget my worries for a while me my favourite way to unwind I find my stress levels reduced my overwhelming brain fog is lifted helping me get back to my creative self.

1 listen to inspiring music I like smooth jazz but can be whatever you into. It might even lead to impromptu dance and singing when I do it for me the kids have a little dance with me. This really boosts our moods and creativity.

2 Draw and sketch your feelings. Sometimes out creativity can get blocked by everyday life our emotions, jobs, children the list goes on. I’m no artist but sometimes drawing random pictures or doodles brings me joy and also helps clear my mind. One day you might just wanna scribble away your bad mood.

3 Read an inspiring book for me I’m quite impartial to a self-help book yes some are a bit gimmicky but as a mother and someone who suffers from anxiety disorder the more information the better. I also feel like fiction books and fantastic adventure stories you can imagine the story come alive in your mind sometimes leading to disappointment when the films they bring out don’t match up to your inner monologue.

4.Create digital art this one is probably one of my favourite since this lockdown has started ive been sending digital postcards and birthday card to the people we miss the most. There is a great website with clip art my favourite being the <a href=”http://<a href=”https://designbundles.net/collections/flamingo-clipart&#8221; rel=”sponsored”>example linkflamingo clipart the just somthing about the cool designs that get my creativity going im not sure if its the summer vibe i get or the bright bubbly colours definantly the kind of creativity i needed during this rocky patch. The <a href=”http://<a href=”https://designbundles.net/collections/chicken-clipart ” rel=”sponsored”>example linkchicken clipart is also alot of fun take a look.

5. Explore a new hobby there are so many options of at-home hobbies I am a hobby addict sewing, knitting, comping, blogging, cooking and baking being my favourites and most of them you can learn online for free there are so many options if there is something you have been wanting to try to do give it ago and spark joy as Maire Kondo would say.

6.Write down your dreams and aspiration and try to reach them. ok so this one for me was easy I know what I want from life and I will work hard to get there. weather its a new job or you want to go travelling write down what needs to be done maybe you need more qualifications or you need to save money for that dream trip to Orlando its all doable and we all have so much time on our hand why not plan for the future a little again so many free resources online you could even create a mood board so you can visualise your dream.

7.Go for a walk a great way of clearing the mind. This also a great way to get your body moving theres nothing like fresh air to clear the mind and make you feel more active leading into your being more motivated and happy.

8. Ditch social media for 48 hours sometimes we can get a bit wrapped up and before we know it we’ve been scrolling for longer than we care to admit. Switching off the notifications will suffice if you don’t want to deactivate them. Not only will you have more time on your hands because of all the hours seeing what everyone else is doing but you might even feel like doing something new and exploring passions you’d forgotten you had social media is good in a way but on the other hand ive noticed how wrapped up people are in the phones almost becoming zombies I myself am guilty of this and when I was comping full time I spent so much time on social media to the point of obsession looking for competitions I almost forgot who I was. I’m a creative artistic person but a hobby took over I’m slowly getting back into it but not as obsessively.

9. Cooking maybe a bit of strange one but sometimes in the dark dephs of the back of the cuboard or bottom of the chest freezer try pairing those mischollanious items. Not only inspiring creativity but also reducing food waste this can also be done with fridge food too so many combinations the possibilities are endless.
